Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay fighter. She competes currently with the UFC Flyweight division. She is also the elder sister of former UFC Flyweight champ and the fellow UFC athlete Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko began her fight sporting career as a Muay Thai Kickboxer and debuted in the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko was the winner of the event and beat Suzane Miller in the finals by a unanimity. Antonina was able to follow it up, and won a silver medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008 a gold medal in 2011 and the year-end 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia began her professional journey in 2003. She won her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016, and also the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina was the last time she fought Isa Tidblad Keskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by a unanimous vote. Antonina Schevchenko kicked off the professional phase of her MMA career in 2002 after a win over Anara Baanova at the KFK Championships of Kyrgystan. She took the fight with a TKO after round 2. Her subsequent 2 matches were held in WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko stopped her involvement in MMA to focus on kickboxing. She made her comeback to fight Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko won against Anissa with a unanimous vote, and then she defeated Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. After leaving the league in 2018, Shevchenko was a part of Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina showed off her striking prowess by TKOing Nievera using knees. Antonina was offered an UFC offer after her victory. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Hitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modafferi by a split-decision fight following her first bout by a unanimous decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from her loss, and won Lucie Prudilova at UFC on ESPN Covingtonvs. Lawler who was able to win the fight by rear naked choke submission. It was the best fight of the night for that bout. Shevchenko was victorious in her initial three fights but then lost her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Recently Antonina was defeated by Casey O'Neill at UFC Fight Night Santos vs. Walker via second-round TKO.
