Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her stage title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The label debuted her first EP titled Pho in October of 2016 when she began getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. She continued to upload her tracks online through 2014 and released her own single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, in Sweat It Out July 21st, 2015. Later that year her music circulated all over the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some references for Rihanna. On December 8 it was announced that she was contracted to Dreamville Records. The record Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat with Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016 her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing as part of The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening performance. In 2018 she guest-starred on two songs alongside her label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. And Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. The music video was released, followed by a music video September. Then on the 9th of November 2018 the singer released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On the 13th of November, two brand new singles, titled No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make appearances on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this track as a single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. A music video debuted on February 20, 2019 in conjunction with the song. Within the first week, it had over 3,000,000 views. As a support act She toured with 6LACK during December 2018 on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
