Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her stage title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The label debuted her first EP titled Pho in October of 2016 when she began getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. She continued to upload her tracks online through 2014 and released her own single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, in Sweat It Out July 21st, 2015. Later that year her music circulated all over the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some references for Rihanna.
